As every year, a part of this year’s Darmstadt hydraulic engineering and water resources congress (DAWAKO 2018), was the awarding of prizes for outstanding student theses. SYDRO Consult GmbH has always been committed to supporting young academics, in this regard DAWAKO 2018 was a success on multiple fronts!
As in the last few years, SYDRO’s Dr. Wetzstein was a member of the honorary jury that selected three outstanding Bachelor and Master theses for the awards.
SYDRO was pleased to yet again donate one of the prizes, which this time was awarded to Ms. Kim Merle Nobis. Ms. Nobis’ theses dealt with river development plans for a stretch of the Kinzig River near Hanau, Germany.
We were especially pleased with the award for the Bachelor thesis of Ms. Sabine Santhirasegaran, which was supervised by SYDRO, and dealt with current issues regarding the reference parameter AFS63 in water resources protection guidelines. After the award received by Ms. Anna Bach at the DAWAKO 2016, this continues the tradition of theses that are co-supervised by SYDRO being recognized and awarded.
We thank the Institute of Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineering as well as the friends and supporters of the institute of the Technical University of Darmstadt for organizing DAWAKO 2018 and are already looking forward to DAWAKO 2019!
