Following the successful completion of the predecessor project TASK, the successor project TASK2 was launched in 2021. The joint partners are the city of Erfurt and TFW (Thüringer Fernwasserversorgung). The project is funded by the BMU (German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety).
The aim is to develop a tool for the operational use of seasonal hydro-meteorological forecasts for the adaptation to drought caused by climate change. With the help of this tool, room for maneuver is to be opened up that will make early contingency planning of water resources possible. For this purpose, discussions with stakeholders (public and private) and thus the development of a contingency plan are an integral part of this research project.
